The CMT 188 spiral bits are intended for aluminum processing. They are made of high-speed steel (HSS) with 5% addition of cobalt. The maximum recommended number of revolutions is 12,000 rpm.
CMT router bits for aluminum have only 1 spiral (upcut), which allows them to perfectly eject the cut material without overheating the blade.
They are made of HSS with 5% addition of cobalt, which makes their service life longer.
With router bits for aluminum, we need to pay close attention to the maximum number of revolutions, which is 12,000 (50% less than with routing bits for wood).
